To be a strong fit for the role of Accounting Assistant, you will have:
  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience as a bookkeeper
  • An associate's degree in Accounting preferred
  • Broad bookkeeping experience including strong experience with bank reconciliations and most or all of the following:
    • Reconciliations (sales order, inventory, etc.)
    • Accounts Payable
    • Accounts Receivable and Collections; understanding of how AR affects GL
    • Inventory bookkeeping, including finished goods and imports

    • Credit card processing
    • Understanding of debits and credits
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Tax knowledge and experience (Washington state and B&O)

  • Accuracy with strict attention to detail

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, as Accounting Assistant, you will serve as an integral part of our office team by handling a variety of key accounting responsibilities. You will support day-to-day, monthly and year-end AP and AR accounting and general ledger activities, do bank reconciliations for multiple accounts, work extensively in our ERP system, and also recommend process improvements and efficiencies where appropriate. Specifically, you will be responsible for:
  • Optimizing our cash flow by monitoring AR and AP closely
  • Sales order reconciliation; reviewing and reconciling receivables; conducting a monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts and petty cash accounts  Quick question for you - click here
  • Monitoring the accuracy of warehouse inventory levels; doing inventory reconciliations
  • Creating and issuing financial statements and financial reports
  • Paying attention to financial performance on a daily basis, reporting any red flags or areas of concern
